My purpose in treatment

When I treat a client, it's not just about me doing techniques that I think their body needs. My goal is to engage them into a conversation, verbally, and also with their tissues, and get their body to focus on wherever it is in their body that needs attention. I want them to collaborate with me for their own health, healing, and well-being. I want to listen with my hands, and see if I can decipher where in the body will have the biggest effect on their health. Then I want to make sure to get enough release in enough places, so that they will have enough adaptability for their body to be able to accept the changes that we, together, accomplish during the session. I usually suggest a 15-20 minute walk afterwards, the day of the session, and for 3-5 days after. This helps them to integrate the changes into their body, find their center again, and get the most out of our session.
